PRIVACY POLICY Of BOOM IDEANET, LLC

Boom Ideanet, LLC (“Boom,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is sensitive to the privacy concerns of visitors to its websites.  The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to describe what types of personal information we collect from visitors to Boom’s website, http://www.boomideanet.com or any other site operated by Boom or by a Service Provider on behalf of Boom (collectively the “Boom Websites”), the purposes for which we use the information, what rights you have regarding your personal information, and to whom and under what circumstances we disclose your personal information. This Privacy Policy applies to our information collection, use, and disclosure practices for website visitors ages 18 and over.

COLLECTION OF NON-PERSONAL INFORMATION

Certain non-personal information about Boom Website visits is recorded by the standard operation of the Internet servers on which Boom Websites are hosted. The non‑personal information that we collect may include IP addresses, the type of operating system in use (e.g., Macintosh or Windows), the type of browser being used by the visitor (e.g., Firefox or Internet Explorer), the number and frequency of visitors to Boom Websites, the site the visitor was on immediately before visiting the Boom Website, and standard web log information, such as connection information, statistics on page views, traffic to and from our site, and ad data. When you view Boom Websites or use website features, we may collect certain non-personal information from you by using small text files known as “cookies.” We use cookies for several purposes, such as to recognize visitors to our websites, to determine the number of unique visitors to our websites, to ascertain which website pages they visit, and to conduct internal reviews of our site. We may associate information we collect via cookies with the personal information we collect online. We may use the combined information, for example, to personalize your experience on the website or to personalize marketing communications we may send to you. We explain the personal information we collect online in the “Collection of Personal Information” section of this Privacy Policy. You are always free to decline cookies, but in doing so you may not be able to use certain features on our website. The “help” segment of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to configure your browser to not accept new cookies, how to have the browser inform you when you receive a new cookie, and how to erase cookies from your hard drive. With cookies, the information that we collect and may share is anonymous and not personally identifiable. It does not contain your name, address, telephone number, or email address. Should we allow advertisers on our site, those advertisers may use cookies. We have no control over third-party cookies.

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

You can browse some of our site without telling us who you are or otherwise transmitting personal information. In order to join the Boom network, activate an account and participate in projects, you are required to register and provide certain personal information. If you choose to give us personal information, you consent to the transfer and storage of that information on servers located in the United States. We may collect and store the following personal information: email address, date of birth, Twitter username, professional experience, project related information based on your activities on the Boom Websites (such as files uploaded for your projects or entries to a project); financial information, such as online payment system information, information included in IRS Form W-9; community discussions, chats, dispute resolution, and correspondence sent to us; and standard web log information, such as connection information, statistics on page views, traffic to and from our site, ad data, and IP address.

USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Boom does not resell or redistribute your information. You agree that we may use your personal information to: provide the services and customer support you request; resolve disputes, respond to emails or other inquiries, pay fees, and troubleshoot problems; prevent potentially prohibited or illegal activities, and enforce our site policies; customize, measure and improve our services and content; communicate project based information or suspicious activity and policy violations to you; and compare your information for accuracy, and verify it with third parties.

Either your public alias (optional), your first name and initial of your last name, or your avatar (optional) may be publicly displayed on the Boom Websites, however you may choose not to display any of the above. Boom employees and its independent contractors who may provide project level administrative functions can see for example the information you provided when you joined the Boom network, your project submissions, communications and the possible development of a performance rating system.

HOW YOU CAN PROTECT YOUR ACCOUNT

Your password is your key to your account. Use unique numbers, letters and special characters, and do not share your password with anyone. If you do share your password or your personal information with others, remember that you are responsible for all actions taken on your account. If you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial control over your personal information and may be subject to legally binding actions taken on your behalf. Therefore, if your password has been compromised for any reason, you should immediately notify us and change your password.

HOW YOU CAN ACCESS, REVIEW OR CHANGE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

You can see, review and change your personal information via your account tab. You must promptly update your personal information if it changes or is inaccurate. Once you make a public work posting, you may not remove it. If you request, we will close your account and remove your personal information from view as soon as reasonably possible. We do retain personal information from closed accounts to comply with law, prevent fraud, make any payments owed, issue IRS 1099 forms, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our site policies, and take other actions permitted by law. Other Internet sites you visit, including those linked from the Boom website, may have their own privacy policies or no policy at all. Other websites might use personal information differently than our policy permits.  We strongly encourage you to review the privacy policies of any site before providing any personal information.

DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION

We may disclose personal information if we are legally required to do so, to enforce our policies, to respond to claims that content you submitted violates the rights of others, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of third parties. We may also share your personal information with: entities or individuals that perform functions on our behalf, including, but not limited to, advertising, promotional, internet, and technical service providers (collectively, “Service Providers”) who help us with our business operations (such as website hosting, email compliance, data analysis, and fraud investigations); third parties to whom you expressly agree to share your information with; and law enforcement or other governmental officials, in response to a verified request relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity (we will disclose information relevant to the investigation, such as name, city, state, zip code, telephone number, email address, public alias history, IP address, fraud complaints, as well as project and entry history) or otherwise in response to the judicial process.

SECURITY OF INFORMATION

Your information is stored on servers located in the United States. Boom is committed to commercially reasonable efforts concerning security to prevent the loss, misuse and alteration of the information in our possession. A combination of encryption techniques and authentication procedures are used to maintain the security of your online session and, to protect your Boom account and systems from unauthorized access. All Boom employees and its independent contractors/agents must abide by the Boom Privacy Policy. Only authorized Boom employees are permitted to have access to personally identifiable data about registered users, and that access is limited to what is reasonably needed to perform an employee’s responsibilities, such as providing updates or notices or customer service. However, third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications, and may abuse or misuse your personal information that they collect or have unauthorized access to. Therefore, although we work very hard to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personal information or private communications will always remain private.  Transactions while logging in, registering and in a logged in session are conducted in a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) session, which encrypts all transaction data for transmittal in a format that prevents theft of the information. While on a secure page, a lock will appear on the web browser and this lets you know that you are in a secured session. Our databases are protected from general employee access both physically and logically. We encrypt your account password so that your password cannot be recovered, even by us.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

The Boom website is intended for adults 18 years of age and older. Boom does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES

In the event that Boom or any of its assets are acquired by a third party, personal information acquired by Boom may be one of the assets transferred in such acquisition.

THIRD PARTY WEBSITES

Boom is not responsible for the policies, content, and practices of third party websites to which a Boom Website may link. Please refer to those sites’ own privacy policies to learn how they collect and use personal information.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY STATEMENT

By visiting a Boom Website, you are agreeing to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. On occasion, it may be necessary for Boom to change the terms of the Privacy Policy. We will do so by posting updated text on this site, and your continued use constitutes acceptance of those changes. To ensure that you are aware of current privacy practices, we recommend that you check this site periodically. We will not materially change how we handle previously collected information without providing notice and an opportunity to choose how we use that information.
